Did You Know You Already Have AI in Your Microsoft 365?
Copilot Chat is free for all M365 users – and most businesses have never opened it.
If your business uses Microsoft 365, you already have access to an AI tool you’ve probably never touched. It’s called Copilot Chat, and it’s built into your existing subscription – at no extra cost.
No sign-up required. Nothing to purchase. It’s already there.
What does it actually do?
Copilot Chat is a smart assistant your team can “ask” things – in writing, like sending a message to a colleague. Here are a few everyday business examples:
1. Drowning in unread emails? Paste the content and ask: “What are the key points from these emails?” Your team gets a summary in seconds.
2. Have an Excel file or PDF you need to understand quickly? Upload it and ask anything: “Which product has the most sales?” or “What does this contract say about late penalties?” No need to read through the whole thing.
3. Need to write something but don’t know where to start? Tell it what you need – a client proposal, a staff announcement, a response to a complaint. It gives you a draft in seconds, ready for your team to refine.
Where do you find it?
Go to microsoft365.com, sign in with your work account, and look for the Copilot icon. You can also find it in the Teams or Outlook web sidebar.
Want more?
Copilot Chat works with public web data and files you upload manually. But if you want AI working directly inside Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams – with access to your emails, your files, your meetings – that’s what the Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on is for.
The difference is simple: Chat is a smart tool sitting beside your work. The Copilot add-on sits inside your work.
