Microsoft Power Apps usage examples

Save money and time with tailor-made applications.

What is Microsoft Power Apps?

Microsoft Power Apps is a powerful suite of applications, services, application interfaces, and a data platform that provides an environment for rapid development of custom applications. It allows users to build custom applications tailored to their specific business needs without requiring extensive coding skills. With Power Apps, you can streamline processes, improve productivity, and seamlessly integrate other Microsoft services and third-party applications.

Case Studies: Applications that changed the workflow of companies

1. Visit Log

A playground installation and repair company was using paper and pen for the records employees made during their visits, and then entering the data they collected into their ERP, wasting at least 2 hours each day. In addition to time, the company also needed more licenses for the ERP, as each employee needed their own user.

Protogramma Informatics developed a custom application using Power Apps that allows employees to record data during the visit, saving at least 2 hours each day, allowing them to make more visits. In addition, the company stopped needing multiple licenses for the ERP, since registration was now done from the custom application, saving a significant amount of the licenses it eliminated.

2. Custom CRM

A medical supplies company with a sales department that also operated in remote areas needed a CRM that covered their own unique processes and worked offline. The CRM they were using did not cover these specifics. We developed a new CRM, in which salespeople could enter data from any device, even offline, while they had all the necessary information at their disposal thanks to the interface with the company’s ERP.

The result was that the company was freed from the excessive subscription costs of the previous service, the salespeople were freed from the stress of always being Online at all times, and they had the data available to them as it suited their company’s processes.

3. Project Management & Time Tracking

An engineering company used Clockify for time tracking & project management. It combined this data with data entered manually in excel and data from their ERP. This whole process required many man-hours every day to maintain, and there was always the fear of errors arising from the many steps required.

We created an app that uses Microsoft Power Apps and connects to all the company’s data sources so we have full history from the old apps, but also allows their employees to log into their accounts, enter the time they spend on each project and monitor their progress. All data is shared two-way to their ERP. By integrating the Microsoft Power BI application, we extended the functionality by creating custom reports for project & cost management for the company’s management team. This allowed the company to use a single application for all its needs and saved time and money in its daily workflows.

4. Customer Balances

This solution has been adopted by dozens of our customers. By using Flows in Power Automate and connecting it to any ERP application or database, it is possible to automatically inform customers, accounting or whoever the management of the respective company wants about customer balances.

A popular scenario is to send customer balances to their accounts automatically every 15 days, and also update salespeople and company management of closed balances on a weekly basis. This solution has saved a significant amount of time from the company’s accounting department in tracking the balances.

At Protogramma Informatics, as certified Microsoft Partners for over 10 years and with 30+ years of experience in business computerization, we can guarantee you that we will develop an application tailored to you, which will save you time and money, and all this at a particularly low cost.
